The CSR BOARD is now utilizing email as a primary way of contacting certified court reporters. It is very important that you visit the Reporter Login page of the website at www.lacourtreporterboard.com/login.htm to update your information. It is imperative that you either supply or update your email address in this same area. 

If you know of any certified court reporter that is not receiving this Newsletter then please inform them that they must go to the Reporter Login page of the website and provide their correct email address. This is the only way they can receive the Newsletter. 

NEWS

The next meeting of the Board will be held at the Holiday Inn, Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana on May 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.  All information will be posted to the News & Events page of the website as soon as all details are confirmed. 

 CHANGING OR ADDING A METHOD

It was requested that we insert information that may be helpful to court reporters who may be considering changing or adding a new method.  There is a listing of Louisiana Court Reporting Schools on our website on the FAQ page under number 8.  When you click on the link the list will appear and can be printed. If you are an “Active” licensed Court Reporter then you are only required to take the skills portion of the examination under the new method.  You do not have to take a Qualifying Exam and you do not have to take the written knowledge portion of the exam.  If you have any questions about changing or adding a method then you should call the Board Office.

ANNUAL LISTINGS OF SUSPENSIONS, REVOCATIONS, RETIRED, AND DECEASED COURT REPORTERS           

The current annual listings have been published and are currently being mailed out.  At this time I would like to list those reporters who should not have appeared on the Suspended List No C. E. Credits Ending 2008.

3. Cheryl Levon Jackson, Monroe
4. Yoranda N. Said, Longview, TX

The above reporters were never suspended.

I would like to take this opportunity to make a correction to the Revocation List .  I was recently informed that Ms. Catherine H. Leger is deceased.

If you have a question or would like to confirm the status of a licensed court reporter please contact the Board office during working hours M-F, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  (Lunch is from 12-1 and errands maybe ran from 1-2)
